The Commission has developed a number of resources to assist health service organisations implement the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
To support Mental Health Services, the Commission has undertaken collaborative work with the Department of Health and Ageing and the Safety and Quality Partnership Subcommittee to provide guidance for services implementing both the NSQHS Standards and the National Mental Health Service Standards.
The Consultation Draft Accreditation Workbook for Mental Health Services is intended as a tool for health services implementing and being accredited to the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and the National Standards for Mental Health Services. It provides guidance to determine if there is sufficient evidence available to demonstrate that systems and processes meet the NSQHS Standards. At the same time, the Consultation Draft Accreditation Workbook for Mental Health Services can be used to determine if this evidence substantively fulfills the requirements for an identified match with a NSMH Standard.
The Consultation Draft Mental Health Accreditation Workbook is now available.
